第75回さっぽろ雪まつりを撮影しました。
毎年2/4~2/11に大通公園で開催される、北海道で最大の冬のイベントです。

I went to the 75th Sapporo Snow Festival.
There are a lot of snow statues at Odori Park in Sapporo City.

Area 2 & Area 3：Cityzen snow statues

市民雪像エリア。
会社員、高校生、大学生、企業が作っています。
There are many snow statues made by citizens – business persons, high school or university students and companies.
I saw some manga and animation characters.

漫画『ダンダダン』のターボババア。好物の焼きそばパンを食べています。
Turbo Granny is a lucky cat from Dandadan.
She is eating a fried noodle sandwich, which is called yakisoba bread in Japanese.

「のび太くん！雪まつりに行くよ！」と言いながらどこでもドアを出すドラえもん。
新千歳空港にはドラえもんのコーナーがあり、世界各国の言語に訳された漫画本と、限定の料理を食べられるコーナーがあります。
Draemon and Nobita(Noby).
“Let’s go to Sapporo Snow Festival!!”. Doraemon is taking out an anywhere door from his pocket.
Doraemon is a very popular character in Japan.
The New Chitose Airport has a Doraemon shop, which is a library of Doraemon comic books and a small restaurant.
We can read translated many languages- English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Korean language.

レジギガス(左)とピカチュウ(右)。
レジギガスはシンオウ地方の伝説ポケモンの一つ。
シンオウ地方は北海道をモデルとした地方で、ポケモンダイヤモンド・パール・プラチナの舞台です。

On the left side is Resigigas, and on the right side is Pikachu.
Resigigas appear in the Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum series.
This series story is Shinnoh region.
Shinnoh region is based on Hokkaido.
Resigigas lives in Snowpoint City, this town model is Wakkanai City, the northest place in Hokkaido.
Poke poke (Pokemon trading card game pocket) is popular among Pokemon fans.

ポケモンのロコン。
北海道のご当地ポケモンはロコンとアローラロコンです。
個人的にはユキノオーが良かったなぁ。

This is Vulpix, a kind of Pokemon.
Some Pokemon were chosen as locally promoted characters.
Vulpix and Alola vulpix are Hokkaido promote pokemons.
If I choose Hokkaido to promote characters, I would choose Abomasnow.

Area 4：Big Snow statue

4丁目の大雪像。今年は『転生したらスライムだった件』。
This is “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” it is called “Tensura” in Japan.

転スラグッズを買い求める人たち。
2013年に雪ミクグッズを買い求めるために、3時間以上外で待っている人たちを思い出しました。

Many people buy some special goods of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime”.
Twelve years ago, in 2013, many people were waiting outside a Yukimiku shop to buy Yukimiku figures for over 3 hours.

Area 5：Sapporo Horse Racing

札幌競馬の雪像。
今年のプロジェクションマッピングは北海道の有名な観光地でした。

This big snow statue shows us projection mapping.
A theme is “famous places of Hokkaido”, like Sapporo City, Shiretoko, and Mt.Daisetsu.
Many places displayed snow, but I did not understand what it was.

Area 7：Hokkaido Goverment Office

7丁目エリアの巨大雪像は道庁。
2025年7月25日にリニューアルオープンします。

The Hokkaido Government Office which is commonly called Doucho.
It was revealed and opened on July 25.

Area 8：Ginrinsou in Otaru City

A Ginrinsou is a famous place in Otaru City, which is next to Sapporo City.
Otaru City is developed during the herring fishing Showa era.
This projection mapping shows us the history and views of Otaru.
